A modern, barrier-free senior citizens’ residential complex has been under construction in Breitengüßbach near Bamberg since the beginning of 2024. The plans include spacious residential units spread over three floors and specially tailored to the needs of older people. The focus is on comfort, functionality, and sustainability. Raab Baugesellschaft from Ebensfeld, which has relied on Mayer Schaltechnik’s innovative systems for many years, is responsible for the implementation.
Our new klappMAX ceiling formwork box was used for the first time as part of this project. The system makes it possible to form ceiling surfaces in record time and with minimal manpower. In the residential complex, 201 square meters of ceiling surface with thicknesses of 23 and 25 centimeters were successfully completed—using only two formwork boxes.
klappMAX is not only a flexible system, but also an extremely economical one. The ceiling formwork box significantly reduces losses and damage, as all components are stably and securely integrated and no loose parts can be lost. Logistics on the construction site are also simplified: thanks to its compact design, the formwork box is easy to transport and flexible to use – an advantage that guarantees construction companies planning reliability and time savings.
A unique feature of the clever klappMAX ceiling system is its efficiency in the work process: thanks to its lightweight and ergonomic design, it requires less physical effort. It is also extremely easy to operate, which means that a single worker is sufficient for assembly, formwork and stripping. Because each step is faster and less complicated, double the performance per user is guaranteed.
Foreman Florian Esselberger from Raab Baugesellschaft also draws a positive conclusion: “I was particularly impressed by the considerable time savings we were able to achieve by using this system. Its ease of use and well-thought-out design enable us to make our projects more efficient.”
In addition to the new klappMAX product, other proven systems from Mayer Schaltechnik were also used: on the one hand, the miniMAX beams, which have been proving their worth on construction sites for decades. Secondly, a total of 22 sigeMAX scaffolding platforms, which ensure maximum work safety during concreting. The flexible platform system enables quick preparation, safe working, and easy relocation—another factor that accelerates construction progress and increases comfort for employees.
The barrier-free retirement home in Breitengüßbach is not only functional, but also ecologically well thought out. Climate-friendly construction, high energy standards, and attractive architecture create sustainable living space. The combination of state-of-the-art formwork technology and a well-thought-out construction concept based on experience promises a high quality of life for future residents.
With the successful practical test in Breitengüßbach, the klappMAX ceiling formwork box has passed its baptism of fire. It has been officially available since mid-2025 and is also causing a stir among other construction companies. With its advantages, it sets new standards in ceiling formwork.
