Until now, the slab formwork was laborious and inefficient. Loose beams, props and tripods had to be transported and collected by hand. The lack of a systematic approach leads to delays, time-consuming logistics and unnecessary loss of material. In practice, this means that construction projects have to be planned room by room – a complete bill of materials is created. This material is delivered to the construction site and divided up into rooms on site. This not only causes chaos, but also wastes time.

From brainwave to innovation - how the clever system for slab formwork was created
There is more to klappMAX than just technology – it is the result of genuine collaboration, shared expertise and the will to make a difference. What began as a nocturnal thought developed step by step into a patented product that is helping to shape the construction site of tomorrow. Take a detailed look at the journey from the initial idea to market launch:
In October 2020, Mr. Köhler, Managing Director of Karl Köhler GmbH and member of our customer advisory board, made the decisive statement: “It must be possible to design something that can be folded and unfolded like a table tennis table – which I then wheel out the door.” This sentence stuck in his mind – and became the starting signal for everything that followed. The first idea was born, the spark ignited. The first sketch was created that very night – drawn by Bernhard Mayer, the founder, owner and managing director of Mayer Schaltechnik, as so often between 2 and 4 in the morning.
Together with our customer advisory board – consisting of leading figures from the construction industry – we analyzed existing systems, exchanged experiences and defined the requirements for future-proof slab formwork. The vision was clear: more efficiency, more safety, less stress. It was in this context that klappMAX was presented for the first time – not as a mere improvement, but as a completely new approach.
In intensive workshops with the companies on our customer advisory board, we collected feedback, developed ideas further and translated them into a detailed specification. The message was clear: klappMAX has its finger on the pulse of the times. These meetings were not only a technical exchange, but also a real source of inspiration – and provided the basis for the first prototype.
The construction of the first prototypes began on the basis of the specifications. Each construction stage was critically scrutinized, tested and further developed. The aim: maximum practicality with maximum simplicity. After numerous internal tests, it was clear – we had to get out onto the construction site.
In spring 2024, we started the first field tests on real construction sites. Four different projects, different requirements – one clear line: the feedback was consistently positive. At the same time, a series of tests were carried out at our building yard, where every detail was checked and refined. The result: Prototype T8 – our most mature version to date. It simply works!
After the final KDB meeting in October 2024, the decision was made: klappMAX goes into series production. All components and technologies were patented at an early stage – a clear sign of the uniqueness of our ceiling-mounted sound box and the ambition to set new standards in the long term.
From mid-2025, klappMAX will be ready for delivery – nationally and internationally. Thanks to our partnership with Friedrich Ischebeck. Our system saves time and costs, reduces the strain on your employees and simplifies logistics. We are bringing real innovation to your construction site.
klappMAX in real use: our test construction sites
Before the klappMAX ceiling system went into series production, it had to show what it could really do – under real conditions, on real construction sites. In four selected projects with different requirements, klappMAX was tested intensively: from classic shell constructions to complex large-scale projects.
One example: on the construction site of the barrier-free residential complex for senior citizens in Breitengüßbach, klappMAX was successfully used by the company Raab from Ebensfeld. With just two formwork boxes, 201 m² of slab surface was concreted in record time.
Accompanied by experienced construction professionals, we documented the path from the idea to the solution on the four test construction sites. Afterwards, it was clear that the ceiling formwork box doesn’t just work on paper. It simply works. And exactly where it counts: on the construction site.
