Wall formwork for the festival hall, Schweinfurt

Groundbreaking PRIMAX telescopic formwork modernizes festival hall in Schweinfurt

In fall 2023, comprehensive renovation work began on the historic festival theater on Roßbrunnstraße in Schweinfurt. The renowned construction company Glöckle, which has more than a century of experience, was commissioned to carry out the work. In addition to renovating the existing building, a modern new building was also constructed to house the performers’ rehearsal rooms, among other things.

The focus here was on several walls of exposed concrete classes SB2 to SB4, which were required. SB4 is considered the premier class and therefore presented a particular challenge. This is because it requires the highest precision, optimized formwork technology, and many years of experience.

PRIMAX telescopic formwork as the perfect solution for exposed concrete

Mayer Schaltechnik’s PRIMAX telescopic formwork was chosen to meet the high architectural and technical requirements. Among other things, it impresses with its low anchorage ratio, which enables a homogeneous concrete surface, and its flexible height adjustment thanks to the innovative telescopic principle. Even in single-sided use, the beams remain vertical, ensuring precise results.

Another decisive advantage is the freely selectable formwork facing, which is attached from behind and therefore leaves no screw marks in the concrete. This results in high-quality concrete surfaces that meet even the strict requirements of exposed concrete class SB4.

Practical cooperation for decades

For Glöckle, the decision to go with Mayer Schaltechnik was not a new one. After all, we have been working together for decades. As usual, we provided planning, delivery, and expert advice from a single source—a factor that is often decisive for construction companies.

Foreman Maximilian Schäfer was particularly impressed by us and our product: “With PRIMAX, you quickly realize that practical experience has played a major role in the development process. The low anchorage ratio and the telescopic principle are enormously advantageous for exposed concrete work.”

Excellent results in the first construction phase at the festival hall

In the basement of the new building, our telescopic formwork has already been used to successfully form approximately 450 square meters of SB4-class exposed concrete. The result was impressive in terms of precision, aesthetics, and efficiency – proof that PRIMAX also plays to its strengths in complex projects.
