Cavity wall joints are among the most challenging details in concrete construction. Uneven substrates, varying joint widths, and tight time frames make rapid execution difficult. On many construction sites, auxiliary wooden structures or the use of construction foam are still the methods of choice. Such measures are time-consuming, tie up personnel, generate waste, and often result in unsightly joints. Every cut, every rework and every additional step increases the time and material required.
Modern joint formwork requires a solution for all applications – from functional buildings to attractive exposed concrete. The aim is to achieve technically clean, reproducible results without improvisation. Ideally, the devices should be quick to assemble and dismantle. With the patented FLUXX joint formwork system, Mayer Schaltechnik offers two solutions that have been specially developed for the formwork of joints on hollow wall elements. The modules for walls and floors follow a clear principle: less material and manpower, easy handling, and maximum time savings on the construction site.
FLUXX Wall: precise joint formwork for cavity walls
When it comes to wall joints, a clear process with a flexible system determines speed and quality. FLUXX Wall enables direct and simple installation in the joint of double or cavity wall elements. The formwork rail rests on the joint, the FLUXX plastic locking anchor engages in the panel joint and securely clamps the rail between the elements with a twisting motion. This allows the formwork to reliably absorb the concrete pressure. A telescopic rail complements the construction precisely for short residual dimensions. After concreting, a counter-movement on the locking anchor is sufficient to release the tension and remove the rail. This process can be used for any wall geometry and ensures uniform joint patterns across all construction phases.
FLUXX Floor: quick formwork removal from floor joints
FLUXX Floor creates a clearly structured workflow for floor joints along cavity walls. The floor rails lie along the joint and are precisely aligned using the permanently mounted retaining brackets. The FLUXX Dübelfix anchors the retaining brackets directly into the substrate and ensures stable fixation. The special steel pin can be inserted and easily removed again in just a few simple steps. Longer joints are created by joining the rails together without gaps. With the corner floor rails, floor joints can also be formed at right angles without interruption and additional effort. With the appropriate telescopic rails, dimensional deviations can be flexibly compensated for. After concreting, the dowel fix is removed and the rails can be removed immediately. The formwork can then be used individually or remain connected at the next position, which enables short relocation times and keeps material usage low.
FLUXX: two modular systems with well-designed accessories
The combination of the two systems is the answer to time losses and unsightly joint patterns caused by outdated or temporary devices for joint formwork. Thanks to its simple operation, only a small number of personnel are required for a short period of time. Matching accessories complement the modular principle: with matching cover caps, no concrete gets binto the rails. This saves time-consuming cleaning.
The cleaning effort can be reduced even further: with FLUXX F6 foil attached, no concrete sticks to the formwork rails. This also allows absolutely tight and visually appealing joints to be created. Significant unevenness in the substrate can also be easily compensated for.
