The formwork industry has been under intense pressure to innovate for years: rising construction costs, the ongoing shortage of skilled workers, and the desire for more efficient processes pose major challenges for construction companies. In an interview with the German magazine Wirtschaftsforum, our sales manager Michael Tschenett provides exciting insights into the future of Mayer Schaltechnik — and shows how our formwork systems create real added value.
We focus on practical innovations
“Our products are designed for the construction site, not the other way around” – this clear statement by Michael Tschenett sums up our philosophy at Mayer Schaltechnik. Instead of developing products without consulting construction companies, we have been focusing on solutions based on practical experience for decades.
One example of this is the PAX column formwork, which set standards in the formwork market back in the 1990s. And it continues to do so today. Another highlight is the FLUXX wall and floor rails. The patented joint formwork system puts an end to time-consuming and messy improvisations when stripping hollow wall joints and provides a clean and efficient solution, especially for concrete hollow walls.
Our latest innovation is the klappMAX ceiling system: a solution that can be operated by just one person – safely from the ground, without a ladder or fall protection. The inspiration? A folding table tennis table.
We focus on efficiency for construction companies
Our formwork systems help to make construction projects more efficient, safer, and more cost-effective. In this interview, Michael Tschenett summarizes the key benefits of our innovations:
- Significantly lower personnel costs
- Faster, more efficient processes
- Greater planning reliability
- All our systems are designed for real-world conditions on construction sites
Our corporate culture as a factor for success
Mayer Schaltechnik was, is, and remains a family business with a strong corporate culture and clear values. In an interview, Michael Tschenett explains that many colleagues have been part of the team for more than 20 years. Whether at employee events, at the company’s own in-house exhibition, or in everyday life, people and cooperation are at the heart of Mayer Schaltechnik.
There are also clear plans for the future: with Marion Mayer-Sorgo succeeding company founder Bernhard Mayer, the next generation remains firmly anchored in the company. At the same time, Bernhard Mayer continues to contribute his experience and ideas to product development.
The company management is working hard to open up new markets in addition to the DACH region – for example, in Scandinavia, in the Middle East in the medium term, and in the USA in the long term. Either way, the family character will always remain at the core of the company’s philosophy.
